—— When choosing items for your daily life, what do you value the most?

I look for designs that I can grow attached to over time—something timeless that I won’t get tired of. I want to be able to imagine aging together with the item. I also consider how well it harmonizes with the things I already have at home.

—— What do you think reflects your own style when creating a space?

I like to choose items where I can feel the presence of the maker. I’m drawn to pieces that carry a handmade quality, or ones that each have their own unique expression when I’m choosing them. I also prefer natural materials. I’m not so fond of filling a space with designs that everyone knows or items that are immediately recognizable as belonging to a certain brand. Instead, I love things that feel different from what everyone else has.

—— We’re delighted to know you use STONEWARE ROUND at home.

I often enjoy coffee or tea at home, and I find it has just the right balance of size and weight. The soft, unglazed-like texture makes it pleasant to drink from, and I also feel that it keeps warm drinks from cooling too quickly.

—— The ROUND MUG was designed with just the right thickness to enhance heat retention, so we’re delighted you noticed that. How about the PLATE?

When I use the PLATE as a saucer for the MUG, it’s perfect for placing a small sweet, a bit of sugar. The rim design gives a sense of security and makes it easy to use. I also like the idea of using the PLATE on its own, as a small serving dish apart from the MUG. Its softly rounded silhouette blends effortlessly into any space, and I love that it still looks beautiful even when stored on an open shelf.

—— You use other MOHEIM items besides STONEWARE ROUND.

I regularly use the HANGER RACK and the SWING BIN, and I love them both. What I really appreciate about MOHEIM is that they offer everyday essentials—things we use all the time—that are surprisingly hard to find elsewhere. Every item feels like something I’d want to have. The colors are also beautifully balanced, which makes them blend seamlessly into my space.

—— What impression do you have of MOHEIM?

In addition to what I mentioned earlier, I feel that MOHEIM’s designs are simple yet original, and they bring a sense of reassurance because they harmonize with any type of interior, no matter the style.
