MOHEIM OWN STORY vol.24
—— What do you consider important when choosing interior design items?
For me, the key points in choosing interior items are color, functionality, and items that do not disturb the space.
This is because I believe that these three have common values. For color, I choose white, gray, and wood materials, and not too much black. I make a conscious effort to choose objects that do not obstruct the space, but have a sense of presence. The most important thing is functionality. I have a sense of value that things should have a meaning or a role, and if they are effective or have high performance, that is even better.
—— What are your favorite aspects of STANDING MIRROR?
I like the STANDING MIRROR because it does not take up much space, even though it is a full-length mirror, and the wood design gives it a gentle impression.
Although this type of mirror is an “optional” piece of furniture in everyday life compared to a table or chair, its presence makes it stand out in a room. It is thin and light, so it is easy to change its position, for example when redecorating the room. I realized this after actually placing it in my home.
—— Is there a place in your home where your “personal style” is evident?
Yes, it is the space behind the kitchen. From the time I previewed the room before I decided to move there, I had imagined that I would like to put a table here….
This might sound a little strange, but I spend so much time in the kitchen because I eat dinner, drink, and watch videos there. Then I wanted to put a chair or a tablet…, and in addition, I decided to put the dining table behind the kitchen!
I had my eye on the dining table I wanted even before the move was finalized. I feel that this room is getting more and more sophisticated as the days go by, and it is becoming my favorite space in my apartment.
—— Please let us know what you think about MOHEIM as a brand.
The first impression that comes to mind is that MOHEIM as a brand is “gentle.” I feel that MOHEIM products fit into any space, and have a sense of presence without being intrusive.
There is also the image of “softness,” “mild colors,” and “ellipses.” In particular, I think the gray coloring and the harmony with wooden materials show the character of MOHEIM.
—— Are there any other MOHEIM products you like or are interested in?
One of the items I would like to purchase is SIGNS. The idea of installing a pictogram at home and the fact that it looks cute just by putting it on is so good. I want to put it in my house! I sometimes see such pictogram signs in houses and cafes, but I appreciate the fact that these SIGNS can be installed in any house including rented apartments. I will be moving this spring, so I plan to install it in my new house.
I have been using SWING BIN since my first year out of college several years ago. I bought the gray/gray model, which at the time was a special collaboration model/color for THINK OF THINGS. I was attracted by the fact that it was a design I had never seen before, even though a part of the bin was made of wood, and the gray color seemed to go with a variety of spaces. I am still very happy with my purchase.
By the way, it was THINK OF THINGS that led me to know about MOHEIM. HORN was prominently displayed in the store, and every time I went there, I wondered, “I like that wall clock…I wonder what brand it is…” Then I looked it up and found out the name and existence of MOHEIM.
—— Anything you would expect from MOHEIM’s new item/collection?
As I mentioned earlier, I like storage items because I value the “functionality” of interior design products. So I would be happy if MOHEIM could make a variety of storage items.
And bookshelves. I am curious to see what kind of shelves MOHEIM can produce.
