—— MUYA’s space is simple and beautiful. What do you think is typical of MUYA in creating your own space?
Basically, we like simple and clean spaces, and often place or arrange playful or colorful things in them.
—— What do you keep in mind when selecting interior items?
We don’t know much about interior design, but we have many friends and business associates who create very good things, so we try to think about their works first for our interior.
—— Does your everyday life influence your interior design, such as your hobbies, eating habits, or taste in favorite music?
We have not been very conscious of it, but we think we are unknowingly influenced by it.
We have a longing for the old way of living and meals, so someday, we would like to live in a house having a kitchen with a dirt floor with a traditional way of lifestyle.
—— What is the image of MOHEIM as a brand?
MOHEIM’s items are simple and clean. It seems to us that what we value in our work is common with MOHEIM. We think it is wonderful that many of the MOHEIM’s products are designed with “yohaku (blank space),” as they can improve any space depending on the user’s ideas.
—— You have chosen SIGNS to use in your store. What is your impression of it?
We have not had signs that fit in with our store, and until now we have been verbally guiding customers without any signage. Now, we are happy to have finally found something that fits in with our space as signs for restrooms and other rooms in our store!
The simple SIGNS blend in nicely with the atmosphere of our store. We chose signs that match the color of the walls, so they don’t stand out too much, and seem to enhance the existing space we have.
—— Are there any other MOHEIM items that you are interested in?
LINDEN BOX. We would like to use them because we enjoy buying records.
