—— Could you tell us what you value most when choosing interior items?
I prioritize colors and shapes that naturally blend into the scenery of the room.
—— That is exactly the philosophy shared by MOHEIM items. Are there any parts of your home or workspace that you feel are uniquely “you”?
Basically, I choose things that can be used for a long time. I value textures that make me feel good when I touch them, or offer a sense of comfort during use.
—— Great to know. If the reason you chose the STONEWARE ROUND series is because you liked the texture, that makes us very happy. Do you think your daily life influences the way you create your space?
Yes, it definitely does. Since my work revolves around food and cooking, I pay special attention to the kitchen area. I make sure to create an environment where I feel good and inspired when I’m standing in the kitchen.
—— How do you find using the STONEWARE ROUND Mug?
I use the M size, and it’s just the perfect size for the amount of coffee I usually drink! It has such a gentle feel against the lips, and somehow, I feel as though the coffee itself is in a slightly better mood.
—— Are there any other MOHEIM items that have caught your eye?
The wall clock “HORN”! It’s so simple and charming, isn’t it? It’s the design I’m most curious about right now. I was also surprised to see so many color variations. I’d love to see it in person!

Shoichiro Aiba
After honing his culinary skills in Tuscany, Italy, from 1994 to 2000, he returned to Tokyo to serve as a manager and chef. In 2003, he opened the casual Italian restaurant “LIFE” near Yoyogi Park. Today, he operates five restaurants across Japan, each with its own unique concept, attracting a diverse following of all ages.
He is also an accomplished author with several publications, including 30 Days of Pasta, Cooking and Tools, and How to Create the World’s Most Comfortable Restaurant. As a father of two, he embraces a dual-lifestyle, spending his weekends with his family at their mountain home in Nasu, Tochigi Prefecture.
