GRAIN: Tableware made with recycled clay to enjoy rich looks and natural textures

MOHEIM, a Japanese interior product brand, is proud to announce the launch of “GRAIN” series available from August 21, 2026.

“GRAIN” is a tableware series designed to savor the raw texture of clay, the subtle speckles on the surface, and the rich, unique feel and character of each piece.

The name comes from the countless “grains” scattered across the surface—a distinct look born from using recycled clay made by coarsely crushing discarded Mino ware, a traditional Japanese ceramics.

Bits of glaze from the recycled ceramics—in shades of blue, brown, black, and more—emerge as speckles, giving every piece its own one-of-a-kind character.
These scattered flecks add a warm, natural tone to the underlying white base.

To fully highlight the raw qualities of the material, the exterior is left unglazed, offering a tactile feel that connects you directly to the clay’s natural texture.
When held, the subtle texture of the grains creates a soothing warmth and comfortable grip.
The interior is finished with a clear glaze, ensuring it resists stains and remains easy to use every day.

The GRAIN series features three pieces—a MUG, a CUP, and a TEA PLATE—each crafted with gentle curves by skilled craftsmen.

Designed with soft forms that naturally highlight the material’s texture and distinct character, every piece fits comfortably in the hand.
